Sultan has spent over a quarter of a century in financial services, his career taking him to Deloitte, Charles Schwab, Barclays, Al Rayan Bank and most recently Offa.  Starting life as a chartered accountant, Sultan is one of the leading names in UK Islamic finance. He played an instrumental role as part of the founding management team that obtained Western Europe’s first Islamic banking licence for Al Rayan Bank, where he served as CEO for 8 years. During this time, he turned the loss-making business into a profitable one with exponential growth through a real estate financing strategy, building the balance sheet to £2bn.  Sultan is a Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment. He also sits on the Islamic Finance Council UK Advisory Board.

Sagheer combines his experience in analysis and risk mitigation with a proven ability to create and implement strategies for growth across products, systems, policies and people, He built an impressive reputation whilst Head of Premier and Retail Assets at Al Rayan Bank, where he not only operated in retail banking, but also specialised in asset products such as the Home Purchase Plan (HPP), Buy to Let, Expat finance, Premier and Overseas High Net Worth (HNW) property finance.

Amir Firdaus

Amir remains at the forefront of growth in Islamic finance in Britain. The chartered accountant’s 20-year career has seen him take up high profile roles for legacy-free challenger banks, expanding their reach into the personal, SME and intermediary banking sectors. As Chief Financial Officer and Head of Treasury at Al Rayan Bank, Amir helped make history in 2018 when he led the bank into issuing a Sterling Sukuk (Islamic bond) – the first time a bank in a non-Muslim country had done so. Amir has gone on to structure numerous Islamic Finance Sukuk and led the RMBS issuance at Al Rayan Bank. Prior to that, Amir was with Aldermore Bank and Sainsbury’s Bank. While Head of Asset and Liability Management at Aldermore Bank, he facilitated its balance sheet growth from £150m to £4.5bn. His role at Offa is multi-faceted role. He is responsible for delivering scalable systems and processes that ensure quick and efficient service for Offa’s customers. He heads a team working with global banks and institutions, private equities and high net worth individuals to obtain and structure funding lines for Offa, with the potential of launching capital markets products in the future.
