Sultan has spent over a quarter of a century in financial services, his career taking him to Deloitte, Charles Schwab, Barclays, Al Rayan Bank and most recently Offa.  Starting life as a chartered accountant, Sultan is one of the leading names in UK Islamic finance. He played an instrumental role as part of the founding management team that obtained Western Europe’s first Islamic banking licence for Al Rayan Bank, where he served as CEO for 8 years. During this time, he turned the loss-making business into a profitable one with exponential growth through a real estate financing strategy, building the balance sheet to £2bn.  Sultan is a Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment. He also sits on the Islamic Finance Council UK Advisory Board.

Bilal is a property pioneer whose extensive experience in real estate and property finance spans the entire life cycle of property, from purchase and development to refurbishment and sale. For closed to three decades, he has bought and sold property to the value of hundreds of millions of pounds with ventures that include purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA), as well as residential and commercial developments. Prior to Offa, Bilal launched a conventional bridge platform providing short term first charge lending. He also founded Sama Investment Group, the UK’s first regionally focussed Sharia-compliant real estate developer and property investor. With many British Muslims investing in property, creating a company specialising in Sharia-compliant bridge finance was a natural step – and the demand from the market has proved there is a real need for it. As Offa CEO, Bilal is able to draw from his comprehensive experience of the property sector, which gives him an unparalleled understanding of the needs of both brokers and property investors, large and small. Dedicated to excellence, Bilal takes a hands-on approach to his work. Whenever necessary, he will happily don his hard hat and walk to a site to assess its true investment potential for clients, and to meet with investors interested in creating funding lines. He has assembled some of the leading names in Islamic and property finance to drive Offa forward.

Amir remains at the forefront of growth in Islamic finance in Britain. The chartered accountant’s 20-year career has seen him take up high profile roles for legacy-free challenger banks, expanding their reach into the personal, SME and intermediary banking sectors. As Chief Financial Officer and Head of Treasury at Al Rayan Bank, Amir helped make history in 2018 when he led the bank into issuing a Sterling Sukuk (Islamic bond) – the first time a bank in a non-Muslim country had done so. Amir has gone on to structure numerous Islamic Finance Sukuk and led the RMBS issuance at Al Rayan Bank. Prior to that, Amir was with Aldermore Bank and Sainsbury’s Bank. While Head of Asset and Liability Management at Aldermore Bank, he facilitated its balance sheet growth from £150m to £4.5bn. His role at Offa is multi-faceted role. He is responsible for delivering scalable systems and processes that ensure quick and efficient service for Offa’s customers. He heads a team working with global banks and institutions, private equities and high net worth individuals to obtain and structure funding lines for Offa, with the potential of launching capital markets products in the future.

During his 17-plus years of experience in Islamic banking, Sagheer has developed and managed a multi-channel distribution of Sharia-compliant products worldwide, generating more than £1 billion from property finance. Sagheer combines his experience in analysis and risk mitigation with a proven ability to create and implement strategies for growth across products, systems, policies and people, He built an impressive reputation whilst Head of Premier and Retail Assets at Al Rayan Bank, where he not only operated in retail banking, but also specialised in asset products such as the Home Purchase Plan (HPP), Buy to Let, Expat finance, Premier and Overseas High Net Worth (HNW) property finance.

Andrew brings 25 years’ experience in the property finance world, specialising in both regulated and non-regulated lending for short term bridging finance and buy-to-let. Andrew came to Offa after seven years as Senior Underwriter with Precise Mortgages. He is CeMAP qualified, and ILM Standard Level 3 with the Institute of Leadership & Management. His extensive skill set includes business development, data protection and money laundering underwriting, auditing, due diligence, arrears management, litigation and repossession, and fraud recognition and prevention.

Ben Reeves brings a wealth of experience to the post, much of it gained during a 21-year career with NatWest Bank and its parent group, the Royal Bank of Scotland, where Ben worked in a variety of senior operational roles managing large-scale fulfilment systems across multiple brands in the Buy to Let, residential and extra borrowing markets. Ben played an instrumental role in transforming NatWest’s mortgage operations to became more customer-centric, whilst creating more cost-efficient processes. After leaving NatWest, Ben worked as Head of Ops for a leading packaging company before returning to the world of finance with Offa. As Offa’s Head of Ops, Ben will be the delivery lead for our new product launches, creating a market-leading customer experience. He will also oversee our innovative new technological infrastructure, where all systems are streamlined to ensure customers consistently have access to Islamic finance fast.

Gemma brings nine years of experience in property finance to Offa. She was previously a Client Account Manager at Greenfield Mortgages, where she worked for four years. Her experience cuts across different lending products, from bridge finance and commercial term mortgages to post-completion loans and repayments, giving her a strong overview of the entire lending process, including dealing with problematic lending issues. At Offa, Gemma works on new bridge finance applications to ensure that they meet credit policy. She liaises directly with bridge customers and brokers, assessing the level of risk for each finance application and ensuring Offa responds quickly to the applicant.

Ginny Wong is a talented and experienced Compliance and Risk Analyst, who has over 15 years’ experience in financial services. She is a Certified Public Accountant with a bachelor's degree in business economics and a master's degree in corporate and financial law. Much of her career has focussed on regulatory compliance, auditing, and accounting. She spent 11 years as a Senior Compliance Monitoring Manager with the Bank of Communications – China’s fifth largest bank. Previously, she worked with PricewaterhouseCoopers and RBS. In her new role at Offa, Ginny will be responsible for fostering a culture of compliance across the organisation, ensuring our compliance and risk management functions adhere to the highest standards.

Jawwad is a chartered accountant, who is both an Associate of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA) and a Certified Accounting Technician (CAT). He brings over a decade of experience in financial accounting and reporting. Jawwad came to Offa having been the Financial Controller at Gatehouse Bank. Prior to that he spent seven years at Al Rayan Bank. At Offa, Jawwad is optimising financial processes and streamlining operations. His role includes financial reporting and preparing statutory financial statements and reports to the board and funding line providers. He also a part of Offa's robust financial risk management system.

Mufti Faraz Adam is well-versed in Islamic law and finance. Since 2017, he has been providing global Shariah advisory services to a number of organisations in the United Kingdom, Bahrain, Malaysia, Singapore, UAE, Kazakhstan and more via his Amanah Finance Consultancy platform. Mufti Faraz holds various industry qualifications, as well as an MA in Islamic finance, banking and management. He is an advisor at the UK’s National Zakat Foundation and additionally, an advisor and researcher at the Shariyah Review Bureau, with Offa among the organisations he helps guide with his expert Shariah advice.

Robert has some thirty years’ experience in the property industry, most recently with commercial property consultants Stephens McBride. Robert’s extensive expertise in the industrial and secondary retail market means his advice is regularly sought and highly regarded by colleagues and clients alike, especially on matters relating to agency, landlord & tenant, acquisition of investment property and development work.

Sayful is a CeMAP qualified, Islamic finance specialist with over 15 years’ experience in property. He specialises in providing home purchase plan advice and business development within the community and broker network. He has previously worked as a Business Development Manager for Wayhome and Al Rayan Bank, where he won the award for Highest Seller for three consecutive years. He also spent a decade with Eton Associates, initially in accounts before moving across to work as a RICS-certified quantity surveyor and commercial manager. His role at Offa is focussed on business development through the UK broker network. Outside of his professional work, Sayful is active in charity and a treasurer of his local mosque.

Svetlana Ghadiri is a qualified accountant and solicitor with over 20 years of experience in strategic finance, legal, and regulatory roles. She is joining Offa from Al Rayan Bank, where she was General Counsel to the board. Her previous roles include Chairing the Audit Committee of fintech ITI Capital, Vice-President Compliance at retail foreign exchange broker FXCM Group, allowing her to develop her expertise in regulatory compliance across diverse finance sectors and markets. Svetlana Ghadiri’s professional credentials include Fellowship at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales, Chartered Internal Auditor with the Institute of Internal Auditors. At Offa Svetlana’s responsibilities are monitoring and implementing regulatory requirements, and for ensuring Offa’s internal processes, reporting and staff training adhere to these requirements.

Torera Ogundimu is a dynamic, results-orientated project management professional with over 6 years’ experience working within the financial services industry in France and the UK. She joins Offa from Phoenix Group, having previously also worked for IHS Markit, Royal Bank of Canada, Northern Trust Corporation and BNP Paribas CIB. Torera has consulted on, led, and supported the delivery of numerous complex IT, operational and regulatory projects. She holds a BSc. in Business Management with Economics from the University of Brighton, and a Master’s in Business Administration from INSEAD. She is also a Certified Scrum Master (CSM) and holds an Executive Education Certificate in Fintech Innovation from Saïd Business School, University of Oxford. In her new role, Torera will be managing Offa’s technology-driven projects at an exciting time of growth for us as a fintech, ensuring the successful and timely delivery of these projects.
